The NBA rescinded Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic's 16th technical foul of the season following a review, the league announced Monday.

Doncic was assessed the technical in Sunday's third quarter against the Charlotte Hornets and faced an automatic one-game suspension for receiving No. 16 on the season. As a result of the league's decision, he's eligible to play in Dallas' next game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

The Mavericks ball-handler appeared upset with officials after failing to get a call while driving against Dennis Smith Jr. and Svi Mykhailiuk. It's unclear what, if anything, he said to the referee on the baseline before being disciplined.

Two players have already received one-game suspensions for 16 technicals this season: Memphis Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green. Brooks also garnered another subsequent one-game suspension for picking up 18 on the season - players are handed single-game bans for every two technicals following their 16th.

Doncic will still be suspended if he gets another technical foul during the regular season. Including Monday's contest against the Pacers, Dallas has seven games remaining.

The 24-year-old Mavericks star said Friday that he's been feeling more frustrated than usual on the court. However, he didn't specify the reasons behind his recent lack of enjoyment while playing.
