The Phoenix Suns are signing Bismack Biyombo for the remainder of the season, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Phoenix signed Biyombo to a 10-day contract Jan. 1. The veteran center has impressed for the shorthanded Suns, averaging 13.5 points on 11-of-13 shooting, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in a pair of appearances off the bench.

Biyombo likely won't continue occupying a significant role in the Suns' rotation for the foreseeable future. Starting center Deandre Ayton recently exited health and safety protocols but won't be in the lineup Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans as he continues to ramp up his conditioning. Second-year forward Jalen Smith has been starting at the five in Ayton's absence.

The 29-year-old Biyombo owns career averages of 5.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks across 704 games.
