NBA Wednesday player props: Fade Embiid, Collins in pivotal clash
Player props were graded 3-1 on Tuesday, giving us a 6-2 week and 19-8 mark over our last 27 bets.
The Hawks and 76ers now meet for a pivotal Game 5, while the Clippers gear up to play the Jazz without Kawhi Leonard.
Here's how we're leaning for Wednesday's player props.
Joel Embiid under 14.5 assists + rebounds
Embiid's fingerprints are all over this second-round series. He averaged 39.5 points per game over the first two contests, was one rebound and two assists shy of a triple-double in Game 3, and most recently totaled 17 points and 21 boards Monday.
However, I feel he's due to regress in both the rebound and assist colums.
Embiid's 21 rebounds two nights ago were the second-most in his career. Meanwhile, it was only his third game in 20 tries with four or more dimes.
The star big's gone over his assist-plus-rebound total in three straight but had been held under the total in eight consecutive games prior.
I'll trust the Hawks, who limited Embiid to 14 or fewer combined rebounds and assists in four straight meetings prior to Game 2.
This is one of the largest edges I've had in the postseason.
John Collins under 1.5 made threes
Collins' assist total came through for us Monday. This time, we'll fade him from the perimeter.
The Hawks haven't had much success from deep after converting 20 of a whopping 47 attempts in Game 1. The offense is averaging fewer than 10 makes per contest on worse than 33% shooting over the last three.
Collins canned three of his four from deep in the opener but has only gotten six total attempts up since, going under the total in all three.
Royce O'Neale over 1.5 made threes
The Jazz are overwhelming the Clippers from deep. The league leaders in 3-pointers during the regular season are averaging north of 18 makes across four second-round contests.
After going just 1-of-6 from deep in both Utah losses, O'Neale drilled six of his 12 attempts across Games 3 and 4. He's quietly surpassed this total in five of his last seven overall, as well as five of the last seven against the Clippers.
Donovan Mitchell over 33.5 points
Mitchell's poured in 30 or more points in all four contests this series. Now, he's playing his first game after being snubbed from the All-NBA teams and against a defense without Leonard, who locked up the Jazz guard for a majority of Game 3. Sign me all the way up.
The Louisville product's averaging more than 27 shots from the floor in the second round. Don't be surprised if that number balloons Wednesday, as Mitchell and the Jazz have a golden opportunity to push the Clippers to the brink.
