Curry late scratch vs. Hornets due to illness
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was a late scratch for Saturday's game against the Charlotte Hornets due to illness, the team announced.
The Warriors said the two-time MVP's absence isn't related to COVID-19, according to Steve Reed of The Associated Press.
A team trainer escorted Curry off the court just moments before tipoff. Second-year guard Mychal Mulder started in the 32-year-old's place.
Following Saturday's 102-100 loss, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters - including ESPN's Nick Friedell - that he was hopeful Curry would be back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks.
The six-time All-Star was averaging 29.9 points, 6.2 assists, 5.4 boards, and 1.2 steals entering Saturday's contest in his hometown.
