Ahead of their first NBA Finals appearance as Los Angeles Lakers teammates, Anthony Davis can't help but envision a bright future with his All-NBA running mate LeBron James.

"You see the work and preparation LeBron puts in every day, and you understand why this is his 10th NBA Finals appearance. He never stops," Davis told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes on Wednesday ahead of Game 1 against the Miami Heat. "I plan to follow this mother------ to hopefully nine more Finals. We’re all ready to go."

Davis, who's making his first career Finals appearance, has enjoyed a stellar debut season with James. The duo has guided the Lakers to a 12-3 record through three playoff rounds after finishing with the Western Conference's top regular-season record at 52-19.

Davis' current contract contains a $28.7-million player option for the 2020-21 season. The 27-year-old will be eligible to sign a five-year supermax contract with Los Angeles - valued over $200 million - if he declines his player option and officially becomes a free agent after this season.
