Report: NBA to vote Thursday on final plan to continue season

The NBA Board of Governors set a meeting for Thursday to vote on a formal plan to continue the 2019-20 season, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Additionally, Oct. 12 has reportedly been proposed as the latest possible day Game 7 of the 2020 Finals could be scheduled.
In a previously reported plan, 22 teams would return to action at a single site in Orlando, with July 31 the proposed start date. The field would include the 16 teams currently occupying playoff seeds, plus the six teams that are within six games of the eighth seed in their respective conferences. All teams would play a number of regular-season games followed by a play-in tournament to determine the final postseason field.
The exact structure of the plan that will be voted on Thursday is still being finalized, Wojnarowski reports.
The board, which is made up of representatives of the 30 NBA ownership groups, is expected to approve commissioner Adam Silver's recommended plan. Approval requires a three-fourths supermajority.
The NBA season has been on hiatus since March 11, when Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert became the first of several active NBA players to test positive for COVID-19.
At the time of the stoppage, some teams had as many as 19 games remaining on their original regular-season slates.
