The National Basketball Players Association is temporarily suspending its search for a new executive director to replace the outgoing Michele Roberts, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reports.

The search is being put on hold due to the NBA season's uncertain future during the coronavirus pandemic. Roberts will remain in charge of the NBPA as the organization works with the league to navigate through these unprecedented times.

There are two years remaining on Roberts' current contract, according to Haynes. She's occupied her posting since 2014.

Since the search for Roberts' successor began in March, the union has interviewed a number of candidates, including Detroit Pistons assistant general manager Pat Garrity, Haynes notes.
