The owners of the Orlando Magic and the team's players will contribute over $2 million to a fund that will support the organization's hourly workers during the coronavirus pandemic, the team announced Monday.

The DeVos family, which owns the team, has pledged up to $2 million, while Magic players are also providing unspecified financial support.

"The people behind our teams are family to us and it's our honor to provide assistance to those adversely impacted during this trying time," Magic chairman Dan DeVos said in a statement.

The fund will assist those employed by the Magic, the Amway Center, the G League's Lakeland Magic, and the East Coast Hockey League's Orlando Solar Bears.

The Magic's pledge comes amid a deluge of similar acts from others in the NBA community.
