Playing in his first NBA game in nearly eight months, Andre Iguodala finished with two points on a pair of shot attempts, six rebounds, three assists, and a plus-10 rating.

While his debut with the Miami Heat wound up as a 115-109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, the veteran was pleased with his fitness level in 23 minutes of action, which included the entire fourth quarter.

"Honestly, I haven't even played a pickup game or anything since the (2019) Finals," Iguodala said postgame, according to ESPN's Kevin Pelton. "I was trying to get a feel for where my wind was. Overall, I felt really good out there."

He added: "It was like I was taking a sabbatical. Being away from the game makes you see how much you appreciate this game."

Until last week's NBA trade deadline, Iguodala was technically a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, but he didn't play a game for the organization all season while awaiting a move to a team of his choosing. Iguodala finally got his wish on Thursday, as he landed with the Heat and reportedly agreed to a two-year extension.

The 2015 Finals MVP and his new franchise will now face a quick turnaround, with the second game of a back-to-back slated for Monday night against the last team he suited up for, the Golden State Warriors.
