Golden State Warriors point guard D'Angelo Russell will start against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday in his return from a nine-game absence, the team announced.

Russell has been out of action since spraining his thumb against the Boston Celtics on Nov. 15. Golden State struggled in the floor general's absence, going just 2-7.

He's averaging 24.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in 10 games, serving as the injury-depleted Warriors' primary scoring option.

Draymond Green joins Russell in Golden State's starting lineup after resting for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks.
