The injuries keep piling up for the Golden State Warriors.

Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell is set to miss a minimum of two weeks after an MRI confirmed he suffered a sprained right thumb against the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Russell appeared to suffer the injury midway through the third quarter, and he was seen grabbing his thumb during consecutive possessions. After Golden State's medical staff tended to him on the bench, he retreated to the locker room, and the team officially ruled Russell out for the rest of the contest.

He'll miss the Warriors' upcoming road trip and games against the New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and Utah Jazz.

After shaking off a poor start to the season, Russell is averaging 24.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds as the team's primary ball-handler while Stephen Curry recovers from a broken hand. Russell finished with 12 points and seven assists in Friday's 105-100 loss to Boston.

In addition to Curry and Russell, the Warriors are playing without Klay Thompson, Damion Lee, Kevon Looney, Jacob Evans, and Alen Smailagic. Forward Draymond Green also missed five games earlier this month with a ligament tear in his finger that he said still isn't at 100 percent.
