Spike Lee has obtained a piece of New York Knicks greatness that his courtside seats haven't witnessed in almost 50 years.

Lee purchased 13 items at auction from the estate of late Knicks coach Red Holtzman, including the used original net from Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals, according to The Associated Press.

The net cost $69,184. Lee also bought Holtzman's NBA Coach of the Year trophy from the same season for $31,517 and spent $319,341 combined on the 13 items, according to SCP Auctions.

Lee attended Game 7 of the 1970 Finals as a 13-year-old. "It was a memory I will never forget," he said.

The iconic image of the decisive contest is Knicks center Willis Reed limping onto the floor and playing despite a thigh muscle tear. The Knicks have won just one championship since 1970, which came in 1973.
