Bradley Beal says the Washington Wizards' three-year, $111-million contract extension offer hasn't been on his mind.

"Honestly this might sound funny, but I haven't really thought about it," Beal said at Wizards media day on Monday, according to The Athletic's Fred Katz. "Honestly, I've thought about it, but I have my boy, so my family is what's supporting me.

"... just honestly letting my agent and (Wizards owner) Ted (Leonsis) and (general manager) Tommy (Sheppard) just kind of work through the details."

Beal's partner gave birth to their second child over the summer.

"The deal's on the table, but I'm definitely taking my time and just evaluating what's best for my family," he said.

Beal has until Oct. 21 to sign the extension, but he would be eligible for another one next year. His current contract doesn't expire until 2021, and questions have swirled about the two-time All-Star's long-term future in the District.

The shooting guard remains the Wizards' biggest trade chip going into a season when they're anticipated to be among the league's worst teams. Backcourt mate John Wall is expected to miss the campaign while recovering from a ruptured Achilles.
