The NBA is reportedly exploring the idea of requiring teams to finalize their starting lineups earlier on game day, according to The Action Network's Matt Moore.

The current deadline is 10 minutes before tipoff. The league has considered moving that deadline up to a half-hour or even a full hour before games, though talks are still in early stages, Moore reports.

The change, if approved, would benefit the betting scene. Eliminating the possibility of unexpected last-minute scratches would spare oddsmakers from having to quickly alter odds just before games begin, while bettors would have more information and more time to make decisions.
