Canada's Kelly Olynyk left Wednesday's FIBA World Cup exhibition game against Nigeria after taking a hard fall in the third quarter.

The Miami Heat big man was making a move toward the key when he lost his footing. Olynyk was helped to his feet by a member of the opposing team but stumbled back onto the hardwood as he tried to walk off the injury.

The 7-footer needed assistance as he made his way to the locker room in clear discomfort.

Head coach Nick Nurse told reporters postgame that Olynyk will undergo X-rays but didn't confirm what the injury was, according to The Athletic's Eric Koreen.

The Gonzaga product finished with 11 points, three boards, three assists, and two steals in 16 minutes of play.

Losing Olynyk would be a big blow to an already thin Canadian frontcourt.

Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dwight Powell of the Dallas Mavericks, and 2019 first-round picks Brandon Clarke and Mfiondu Kabengele are already sitting out the World Cup.

Chris Boucher, Khem Birch, Melvin Ejim, and Kyle Wiltjer would likely shoulder the load in the event Olynyk is unable to join Canada in China.

Olynyk is entering the third season of a four-year, $50-million contract with Miami. The 28-year-old averaged 10 points and 4.7 boards across 79 appearances last season.
