New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick declined USA Basketball's invite to attend its training camp ahead of the FIBA World Cup, he told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday.

Redick, who was invited on Thursday, is in the process of moving his family to New Orleans after signing with the Pels this summer.

The 35-year-old had said he was "thrilled beyond belief" to be considered for the national team but added that his family's move would take precedence. Redick was signed to a two-year, $26.5-million deal at the outset of free agency.

USA Basketball's camp will open Aug. 5 in Las Vegas. The team will then switch locations to the Lakers' facility in Los Angeles on Aug. 13 before hosting Spain in an exhibition contest at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Aug. 16.
