With the No. 47 pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings selected Michigan forward Ignas Brazdekis. The pick will go to the New York Knicks in exchange for the No. 55 picks, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Brazdekis turned heads in his lone collegiate season, during which he was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and to the late-season top-20 watch list for the Wooden Award.

The Canadian thrived as the Wolverines' featured offensive player, averaging a team-high 14.8 points per contest on 46.2 percent shooting from the floor. Brazdekis connected on just under 40 percent of his attempts from distance and should continue to provide spacing at the next level.

What the analysts are saying

  • "He was a mostly reliable college scorer, can finish with both hands, and consistently threaten from 3-point range. He didn’t need plays run for him to rack up points, and his toughness and consistent effort should continue to aid him. Still, his weaknesses are glaring: he’s not especially athletic nor versatile defensively, and being able to stay on the floor will be his primary stumbling block to an NBA job." - Sports Illustrated's Jeremy Woo
  • "Brazdeikis' scoring versatility is the draw, as the 6-foot-7 forward flashed 3-point range and ball-handling maneuvers to create and attack. A lack of playmaking and explosion is the drawback for the freshman who's already turning 21 in January." - Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman
