Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson was ruled out for the fourth quarter of Game 6 after suffering an apparent knee injury following a hard foul from Danny Green in the third, the team announced.

Thompson went up for a dunk with just over two minutes remaining in the third when Green challenged him in the air. Thompson then fell awkwardly on his left leg, and Golden State's medical staff quickly tended to him before the veteran headed to the locker room.

Though he came back to shoot free throws - keeping him eligible to potentially return to the game - Thompson then left for the locker room again to receive treatment before being ruled out permanently.

He was later seen leaving the locker room on crutches.

The 29-year-old led the Warriors on Thursday night with 30 points, and he also recorded five rebounds before leaving the contest.
