Lillard, Walker eligible for super-max deals after All-NBA selections

Thursday's All-NBA team selections are putting some players in line for a big payday.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, and Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker are now eligible for a super-max contract extension after each earned an All-NBA nod, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

To qualify for the super-max contract extension, a player has to be with the team he was on at the end of his rookie contract and entering his eighth, ninth, or 10th year in the NBA. In addition, the player must have won MVP, defensive player of the year, or been named to an All-NBA team in any of the three most recent seasons.

Antetokounmpo can now receive a five-year extension worth $247.3 million in the summer of 2020, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The deal would kick in for the 2021-22 season and would be the largest contract in NBA history.

Lillard will reportedly be offered a four-year, $191-million, super-max contract extension from the Trail Blazers this summer after being named to an All-NBA team.

Meanwhile, Walker has another incentive to stay in Charlotte, as he could now receive a five-year, $221-million offer from the Hornets - $80 million more than what any other potential suitor can offer - according to Marks.

Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors weren't selected to an All-NBA team Thursday and thus won't be eligible for a super-max deal.

Beal is in the middle of a five-year, $125-million deal but could've inked a similar extension to Lillard. The most Thompson can now make this offseason is a five-year $191-million max deal, according to Bontemps.
