LeBron James' 11-year tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers is the focus of an upcoming theatrical production.

The play, titled "King James," is set to run at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre from May 7 to June 21, 2020, before making its way to Los Angeles as part of Center Theatre Group's 2020-21 season.

Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph wrote the play and Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro will direct.

"'King' LeBron James' reign in Cleveland brings promise, prosperity, and renewal to a city in desperate need of all three," a description on Steppenwolf's website reads. "As the city celebrates a championship, two estranged friends spar in a verbal game of one-on-one, revealing past secrets, present truths, and a possible future after 'The King' has left the building."

James played for the Cavs from 2003 to 2010 and again from 2014 to 2018, leading the team to its first NBA championship in 2016.
