Veteran guard Jeremy Lin has officially signed with the Toronto Raptors, the team announced.

"He’s a good player," head coach Nick Nurse said prior to Lin's debut against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun. "We want to get good players on the floor."

Toronto is Lin's eighth stop during his nine-year NBA career. The 30-year-old was recently bought out by the Atlanta Hawks, with whom he averaged 10.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 rebounds across 51 games.

"I'm excited to see him, Nurse said, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg. "I think he continues to play like a more experienced player. He's good with the ball, shooting is improved, I think he's tougher than he looks, fights, competes, good IQ, all those things. So let's see what he looks like in a Raptors jersey."

The Harvard product will earn $697,000 with a cap hit of $487,000, which is what Lin gave back to Atlanta in his buyout, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Toronto has saved $13.5 million toward the luxury tax since Feb. 5 and has a current tax bill of $21.2 million, Marks adds.

Lin will provide some much-needed depth at point guard after Delon Wright was dealt in the Marc Gasol trade and with Fred VanVleet reportedly sidelined five weeks due to a thumb injury.
