Free-agent center Enes Kanter agreed to a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Portland landed Kanter over other interested teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The Turkish big man signed an offer sheet as a restricted free agent with the Trail Blazers back in 2015, which was matched by the Oklahoma City Thunder - his team at the time.

The New York Knicks waived Kanter last week. He had only suited up in three games for New York since Jan. 11, putting himself in coach David Fizdale's dog house in the process.

The 26-year-old averaged 14 points and 10.5 rebounds in 44 games this season for the Knicks and should provide Portland with some needed frontcourt scoring behind Jusuf Nurkic and Al-Farouq Aminu.
