Thon Maker's representative has told the Milwaukee Bucks that his client would prefer to be traded to a team that will find a larger role for the former lottery pick, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Maker's agent Mike George has been discussing possible trade scenarios with Bucks GM Jon Horst in recent weeks. According to Wojnarowski's sources, the Bucks have been in talks with rival teams ahead of the NBA's Feb. 7 trade deadline.

Although Milwaukee's front office reportedly still has "strong organization belief in Maker's future" after selecting him 10th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, his role has decreased under Mike Budenholzer, who took over as head coach this past summer.

The 21-year-old has averaged 11.7 minutes this season in 35 games, all off the bench, posting 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds. It's a downgrade after playing 16.7 minutes in 2017-18, while starting in 12 of his 74 games for the Bucks.

Milwaukee currently holds the NBA's best record at 35-12.
