Even the slightest hint that LeBron James would be open to the Los Angeles Lakers possibly acquiring Carmelo Anthony is enough to send the Twittersphere into a frenzy.

The Athletic's Joe Vardon reported Thursday that James would like to get Anthony on the roster, although he hasn't made a formal request to the front office, nor does he intend to.

Considering Anthony's uninspired runs with the Houston Rockets this season and the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017-18, Lakers supporters were nevertheless opposed to the idea of the 34-year-old forward donning the purple and gold.
