Cavs' Thompson fined $15K for flipping off fan

The NBA fined Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson $15,000 for "making an inappropriate gesture toward a spectator" following the Dec. 3 game versus the Brooklyn Nets, the league announced Thursday.

Needing to shut the door on the final possession to secure the win, Thompson contested a would-be buzzer-beater by Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie. The corner three missed its mark, time expired, the Cavaliers escaped the Barclays Center with a 99-97 road win, and Thompson celebrated with a one-finger salute to the local fans:
