A law firm hired by the Philadelphia 76ers has concluded five secret Twitter accounts were owned and operated by Bryan Colangelo's wife, Barbara Bottini.

She confessed when interviewed and forensic evidence confirmed her admission, according to a statement by the firm.

The firm, Paul Weiss, added there's no evidence pointing to Colangelo's involvement with the accounts.

"As a result of our investigation, we do not believe that Mr. Colangelo established the Twitter accounts or posted content on those accounts," the firm said in a statement on Thursday. "The evidence supports the conclusion that Ms. Barbara Bottini, Mr. Colangelo's wife, established the Twitter accounts and posted content on those accounts."

Investigators also determined Colangelo was negligent in revealing sensitive club-related information. The information appeared on the secret Twitter accounts, which were exposed by The Ringer's Ben Detrick in a May 29 article.

On Thursday, the 76ers accepted Colangelo's resignation. Head coach Brett Brown will now oversee basketball operations on an interim basis.
