Toronto police detonated a suspicious package outside the Air Canada Centre on Friday night while the Raptors played the Dallas Mavericks inside.

Police later said the item resembled a grenade but was in fact a plastic replica, according to 680News and the Canadian Press.

The package was reported to police at 6 p.m., about 90 minutes before the game. The incident prompted the evacuation and closure of Bremner Boulevard outside the arena, in an area that has become popular as the "Jurassic Park" fan zone. Two gates to the Air Canada Centre were also shuttered.
