Clippers' Bradley to miss 6-8 weeks following surgery on thigh, abs

Avery Bradley's season could very well be over.

The Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard underwent surgery to repair adductor and rectus abdominus muscles Tuesday and will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, the team announced.

That will keep Bradley out for the remainder of the regular season, with a chance to return during the postseason. Los Angeles is currently in a four-way tie at the bottom of the Western Conference playoff picture, with tie-breakers boosting the club to the seventh seed.

Bradley previously strained his right adductor in mid-December, which sidelined him for seven games, and he missed additional time with groin soreness. Late last month, the Clippers ruled out the two-time All-Defensive player for one-to-three more weeks with a sports hernia.

The 27-year-old has suited up in six contests for the Clippers since joining them in the Blake Griffin trade, and last played on Feb. 14. He's averaging 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, two assists, and 1.1 steals over 46 contests this season, split between the Detroit Pistons and Clippers.

Bradley is earning $8.8 million this year and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
