New York is prepared to nix its relationship with center Joakim Noah.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek said that Noah and the Knicks, who've been apart since an incident in late January, are fully prepared to go their separate ways.

"We've moved on. He's ready to move on and maybe have an opportunity somewhere else," Hornacek said, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

It was reported that during a shouting match between Hornacek and Noah at practice on January 24, Hornacek shoved Noah, causing a scuffle and forcing players and personnel to intervene. Noah hasn't been with the team since.

However, Hornacek insisted that the situation is no longer a distraction.

"That's something that happened three weeks ago, four weeks ago. We handled that thing with Jo," he said. "It's not finalized because he's still on the roster. We've dealt with that situation. There's really nothing more to say about it."

Hornacek added that the incident wouldn't necessarily stop Noah from returning to the team before the end of the season, but said the decision lies with team president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry.

Noah has appeared in just seven games for the Knicks this season, averaging only 5.7 minutes. He's still on the books for nearly $38 million over the next two seasons.
