Report: Raptors eyeing buyout candidate Arron Afflalo

The Toronto Raptors are actively looking to supplement their roster as they prepare for a fifth-straight playoff appearance.

One target to watch for is Arron Afflalo, who could reunite with Raptors president Masai Ujiri as they spent time together with the Denver Nuggets, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.

The 32-year-old Afflalo has struggled in his return to Orlando, with whom he spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. He's averaging 3.2 points in 12.9 minutes off the bench and was suspended for swinging wildly at Nemanja Bjelica in January. He signed an inexpensive $2.3-million, one-year contract with the Magic, but he's not serving much of a purpose for them.

Afflalo is past his prime, but he does bring a measure of veteran leadership and outside shooting. The 6-foot-6 swingman boasts a lifetime shooting percentage of 38.6 percent from deep. He could provide some insurance for the likes of OG Anunoby and Norman Powell, who have both been up-and-down this season.

Based on the Raptors' reported interest in Marco Belinelli, Vince Carter, and now Afflalo, it's clear they're looking for an experienced shooter to come off the bench for spot minutes in their playoff chase.
