Isaiah Thomas' debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers is about to take another step forward, as Thomas is set to take part in full-court five-on-five practices in the next few days for the first time since joining the team, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Thomas, who was acquired from the Boston Celtics in a trade in August, is recovering from a hip injury and is yet to appear in a Cavs jersey this season. According to McMenamin, Cleveland would like him to scrimmage with members of the team's G-League affiliate, the Canton Charge.

Recent reports have indicated the Cavs are targeting an early January return, though he had a little fun with those rumors Monday on Twitter.

Cleveland has gone 23-9 without Thomas, who averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists in 76 games for the Celtics last season.
