Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone was given his early marching orders in the second quarter Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers after running at referee Rodney Mott on the court to protest a non-call on center Nikola Jokic.

Jokic, who expressed his displeasure with Mott alongside his coach, was also ejected from the contest.

As Jokic attempted to tip in a rebound with 6:20 left in the frame, he appeared to be pushed off slightly by the left arm of Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma. After watching Jokic fall to the floor with no whistle, Malone barreled toward Mott in disbelief, stopping the official in his tracks as Los Angeles attempted to catch Denver in transition.

The Nuggets were down 52-32 at the time of their ejections.
