Jazz's Hood diagnosed with calf strain; will be re-evaluated Saturday

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

Utah Jazz wing Rodney Hood had to be carried off the court Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves after going down with what has been initially diagnosed as a calf strain, according to the team.

Hood's injury will be re-evaluated Saturday.

While fighting through a screen set by Karl-Anthony Towns, Hood awkwardly planted his foot on or adjacent to Towns' foot, sending a visibly large ripple through Hood's leg before he crumpled to the court.

Friday also happens to be Hood's 25th birthday.

Here's a closer view of the play that triggered Hood's injury:

Since being selected No. 23 overall in the 2015 draft, Hood has missed 58 regular-season games with a variety of injuries.
