Curry hopes Warriors skip White House visit, 'inspire some change'
The Golden State Warriors will decide as a team whether they'll visit the White House, and it's pretty clear which side has Stephen Curry's vote.
Since capturing the NBA title in June, several players, including the two-time MVP, have openly opposed partaking in the customary visit to the Oval Office because of how they feel about the man occupying it.
"I don't want to go," he reiterated at his Media Day press conference. "My beliefs stay the same."
Curry explained that if his club skips a meeting with President Donald Trump, it will send the following message:
"That we don't stand for basically what our president has, the things that he's said and the things that he hasn't said at the right times. We won't stand for it. By acting and not going hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country, what is accepted, and what we turn a blind eye to. It's not just the act of not going, there are things you have to do at the back end to push that message into motion.
"You can talk about all the personalities who have said things and done things - (Colin) Kaepernick to what happened to Martellus Bennett to all sorts of other examples of what has gone on in our country that we need to kind of change. We're all trying to do what we can using our platforms and opportunities to shed light on that. ...I don't think us not going to the White House will miraculously make everything better, but this is my opportunity to voice that."

Both Curry and Kevin Durant maintained they have no interest in attending, and that it'll be difficult to change their minds. Veterans Andre Iguodala and David West have also been critical of Trump.
