Report: Irving prefers to be traded to Spurs, Knicks, Heat, Wolves

USA Today Sports

Could Kyrie Irving ditch LeBron James for Kawhi Leonard?

Irving expressed to the Cleveland Cavaliers that he would like to be traded earlier this week, and one of his preferred destinations would be the San Antonio Spurs, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

He also showed a willingness to play in Miami, New York, and Minnesota, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Cleveland is under no obligations to accommodate Irving's demands since the star point guard remains under contract for at least two more seasons before he can opt for free agency.

Nevertheless, the four teams on Irving's list could all use a star point guard to run the ship. San Antonio would be the closest to the title with the addition of Irving, while the Heat, Timberwolves, and perhaps even the Knicks would become playoff contenders.
