Celtics' Thomas has laugh over receiving an All-Defensive Team vote

Isaiah Thomas isn't exactly God's gift to defense, yet, for reasons only known to one individual, the Boston Celtics All-Star somehow managed to secure a vote to be a member of the NBA's All-Defensive second team.

Rather than question why he received a vote to honor an area of his game that even he'd admit he struggles in, Thomas elected to have fun with it on Twitter Tuesday afternoon by giving a shoutout to the person behind what had recently been a mystery vote.

It turns out that the vote in question came from Ole's Marcelo Nogueira, who also submitted votes for other questionable defenders like Stephen Curry and LaMarcus Aldridge. Absent from his ballot was the player who went on to win Defensive Player of the Year, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

Out of 468 players, Thomas finished 467th in defensive real plus-minus during the 2016-17 regular season at -3.89 - a fact that Mr. Nogueira was clearly unaware of.
