Report: 'No immediate resolution expected' between Cavs, Billups

Raj Mehta / USA Today Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers still haven't made a decision on who will lead their front office into the future.

Representatives of the team have met several times with Chauncey Billups about the possibility of the former All-Star joining the organization as the president of basketball operations, but things seem to have hit a standstill with "no immediate resolution expected," reports The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Cavaliers weathered the June 22 draft without long-term front-office leadership in place, after not renewing David Griffin's contract as general manager.

If Billups is brought into the fold between now and the start of free agency on July 1, he'll have a very quick turnaround from ESPN analyst to team executive during one of the busiest times of the year for NBA front offices.
