Pat Riley expects most high-profile free agents to stay put

With more financial incentive for some of the league's premier stars to stay exactly where they are, it becomes less likely that there will be any significant movement in free agency this summer among those top names.

At least, Miami Heat president Pat Riley certainly feels that's the case.

"From what we understand, most of the great ones will re-sign with their teams," said Riley, according to The Associated Press' Tim Reynolds.

Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Chris Paul headline a free-agent class that also includes Kyle Lowry, Blake Griffin, Gordon Hayward, and Paul Millsap, among others.

Under the new collective bargaining agreement, the game's biggest veteran stars are eligible to sign five-year contracts worth over $200 million with their current teams - a significant raise over what they could otherwise earn should they look for greener pasture elsewhere.

Fortunately for Riley and Co., the Heat won't have to shell out that kind of money to keep any of their own players. There are still five Miami players who are eligible for unrestricted free agency, though, including Dion Waiters (player option) and veteran Udonis Haslem, who's been a part of the organization since 2003.

"We have a Plan A. We have a Plan B. There's no D, E, F, or G," Riley told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel in regards to how the Heat will maneuver their way through free agency.
