Former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer as part of the 2026 class, the promotion announced Saturday night.

Johnson was cageside at UFC Seattle and received a huge round of applause from the crowd when play-by-play commentator Brendan Fitzgerald revealed the news.

Johnson, 39, is widely considered the greatest flyweight and one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. He held the 125-pound title from 2012-18 and recorded the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history (11), beating the likes of Joseph Benavidez, John Dodson, Henry Cejudo, and Kyoji Horiguchi.

Additionally, "Mighty Mouse" has the third-most wins in UFC title fights (12), the fifth-longest unbeaten streak in promotion history (14), the second-most wins in UFC flyweight history (13), and the most submissions in UFC title fights (five).

Johnson left the UFC in 2018 after losing the title to Cejudo and signed with Asia-based promotion ONE Championship, where he had the final six fights of his career. Johnson went on to win the ONE 135-pound championship before officially retiring from the sport in September 2024.

The Washington state native ended his career with a 25-4-1 professional record.
