Michelle Waterson-Gomez retires after UFC 303 loss

Longtime UFC strawweight Michelle Waterson-Gomez announced her retirement from mixed martial arts following a unanimous decision loss to Gillian Robertson at UFC 303 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

The UFC aired a video package of the highlights of Waterson-Gomez's career after her final fight.

Waterson-Gomez made her pro MMA debut in 2007 and signed with the UFC in 2015. She was a top contender in the 115-pound division for several years, beating the likes of Paige VanZant, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and Angela Hill.

Waterson-Gomez suffered five consecutive defeats to end her career with a 6-9 UFC record.

The 38-year-old, who trains out of Jackson Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, competed in a total of four UFC main events.
