A welterweight title bout between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns will headline UFC 258 on Feb. 13, sources told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

Both fighters verbally agreed to the contest, but contracts haven't been signed yet, Okamoto added.

Usman and Burns were initially scheduled to square off at UFC 251 last July, but the latter withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19. The bout was then expected to take place at UFC 256 in December, but Usman needed more time to recover from an injury.

In his last fight, Usman defeated short-notice replacement Jorge Masvidal via unanimous decision to defend his 170-pound title for the second time. "The Nigerian Nightmare" holds an undefeated 12-0 record in the UFC.

Burns is coming off a lopsided win over former champion Tyron Woodley last May. "Durinho" has won three in a row since moving to the welterweight division in 2019.
