In a series of tweets Sunday, UFC star Jon Jones said he's going to vacate his light heavyweight title.

Jones has engaged all week in a public back-and-forth with UFC president Dana White over rumored financial demands for a heavyweight bout against Francis Ngannou. It ended with Jones daring White to release him from his UFC contract.

The light heavyweight king then said on Sunday that the UFC should pit Dominick Reyes against Jan Blachowicz for the 205-pound belt.

A Twitter user asked Jones whether he was relinquishing his title.

Jones is serious about his stance, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

The 32-year-old owns a 26-1 professional record, with his lone loss coming via disqualification in 2009.

White recently said he believes Jones is the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, but that he's tarnished his own legacy.
