Deiveson Figueiredo missed weight Friday morning ahead of his UFC flyweight title fight against Joseph Benavidez in the UFC Norfolk main event.

He tipped the scale at 127.5 pounds, 2.5 pounds over the division's limit for title bouts.

Figueiredo didn't attempt to shed the remaining weight, UFC officials told ESPN's Brett Okamoto. The 32-year-old forfeits 30% of his purse to Benavidez and isn't eligible to take the belt even if he wins the fight.

If Figueiredo wins, the title will remain vacant, according to The Hammer MMA Radio's Steve Jeffery. Henry Cejudo relinquished the belt in December to focus on the bantamweight division.

It's the first time Figueiredo has missed weight in his UFC career. The Brazilian is 6-1 in the promotion, and this would have been his first UFC title fight.

UFC Norfolk takes place Saturday at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
