Reyes feels 'disrespected' after UFC 247: 'I know I won that fight'

Dominick Reyes believes he should've walked out of Toyota Center with the UFC light heavyweight belt around his waist.

The top contender challenged champion Jon Jones in the UFC 247 main event Saturday night in Houston. He lost via unanimous decision.

"I do feel disrespected. One of the judges had it 49-46 - who are you? I might want to have a word with you," Reyes said at the postfight press conference, according to MMA Fighting. "But other than that, I know I won that fight. I know I won that fight. I was in that fight. I don't have to watch the replay. I was there. I made Jon Jones look like just a man. I brought the fight to him."

UFC president Dana White said he thought Reyes won the fight, but that it was too close for fans to complain.

"Going into the last round, I had Dominick Reyes 3-1 ... (but) it's not like there's this landslide of people saying there was a robbery or whatever. People have it all over the place," White said at the postfight press conference, according to MMA Fighting. "But the reality is, who gives a shit? We're not judges. None of us are judges. The judges called the fight, and that's that."

Reyes battered his opponent early in the bout. During the first 10 or 15 minutes, it seemed as if Jones' title reign was in danger of coming to an end. But the longtime titleholder took over late in the contest.

Many pundits thought Reyes deserved the nod, but the judges ultimately gave it to Jones with scores of 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46.

The latter scorecard is particularly controversial, as most argued that Reyes clearly won the first two rounds and Jones won the last two. The third was the swing round.

Reyes suffered his first pro loss in the fight. He entered his first title shot with a 6-0 record in the UFC and a 12-0 record overall.
