James Krause is slated to fight middleweight Trevin Giles on one day's notice at UFC 247 on Saturday in Houston, UFC president Dana White confirmed on Friday.

UFC officials removed Giles' original opponent, Antonio Arroyo, from the card Friday due to a medical issue, White said, adding that the 30-year-old was "cramping." Giles and Arroyo both made weight at the official weigh-ins Friday morning.

Krause was already in Houston for his teammate Youssef Zalal's promotional debut. He'll be competing in the 185-pound division for the first time. His last two fights were at welterweight, but before that, Krause fought in the lightweight division.

"Everyone says they’re a gangster until it comes time to make gangster moves," Krause wrote in an Instagram post.

Krause made weight at 183.5 pounds during the ceremonial weigh-ins Friday evening. He later passed his medicals, his manager, Jason House, told ESPN's Marc Raimondi.

Krause, 33, has won six fights in a row. In his last bout, he finished Sergio Moraes with a third-round TKO.

Giles has lost two straight, and the 27-year-old dropped a fight to Krause's teammate Zak Cummings last year. Giles is 2-2 in the Octagon.

A light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes will headline UFC 247. The card also features a women's flyweight title fight between champ Valentina Shevchenko and Katlyn Chookagian.
