Cerrone open to immediate rematch if he beats McGregor at UFC 246
Donald Cerrone says he'd be willing to give Conor McGregor an immediate rematch if he's victorious at UFC 246.
"Sure. And I would because I don't care," Cerrone said at UFC 246 media day Thursday, according to MMA Fighting. "The 'who' doesn't matter to me - it's always the 'when' and the 'where.'
"I heard (McGregor) yesterday talking about April sounds free - April, March, whatever the f--- they said, sounds good to me. I'd love to get right on in and go back in March."
"Cowboy," who meets the returning McGregor in the welterweight main event Saturday night in Las Vegas, is known for his desire to fight any opponent, at any time, at any event.
He holds the records for most wins and finishes in UFC history. He's tied with Jim Miller for most fights.
Cerrone, who's been on the UFC roster since 2011, is riding a two-fight skid.
McGregor, a former two-division champion who's been out of action since October 2018, has said ahead of Saturday's bout that he plans to stay active and wants three fights in 2020.
The Irishman hinted he could fight as early as March or April should he come out of the Cerrone bout unscathed.
