Women's flyweight Liz Carmouche was released by the UFC on Thursday, her manager Kyle Stoltz informed ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

She learned of her release while promoting the UFC's upcoming card in Washington D.C., Stoltz said.

Carmouche famously fought in the first women's bout in UFC history, losing to Ronda Rousey via armbar in the first round at UFC 157 in 2013.

"Girl-Rilla" owns a career record of 13-7. She lost her last fight, a flyweight title bout against Valentina Shevchenko in August, by unanimous decision.

Prior to that, Carmouche had won her two previous fights.
