Pedro Munhoz has had no luck securing his next opponent, so he offered himself as a replacement if any injuries occur in either bantamweight fight at UFC 245.

"I asked (UFC matchmaker) Sean (Shelby)," Munhoz told theScore. "I said, 'Listen. Let me be the backup. ... I'm training. I'm getting ready to fight in December, just my (mindset),'" Munhoz said. "I will be in Vegas the week of the fight. If something happens, I (can) step in."

He added, "I want to fight someone in the top five."

Munhoz (18-4, NC) hasn't competed since a decision loss to Aljamain Sterling in June at UFC 238. Currently, the two bantamweight fights on Dec. 14 are Jose Aldo versus Marlon Moraes and Urijah Faber versus Petr Yan. However, don't expect Munhoz to replace Aldo should the former featherweight champion suffer an injury.

"I'm actually planning to go down during the week, seeing Marlon Moraes (against) Jose Aldo. That's the fight I wanted to see, especially like right now - I’ve been training with Marlon for the last two months," Munhoz said, adding that Moraes moved his family to Florida and has been training full time at American Top Team.

UFC 245 takes place Dec. 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman defends his title against Colby Covington in the main event. Watch the full interview with Munhoz below and subscribe to theScoreMMA YouTube channel here.
