Alexander Volkov defeated Greg Hardy via unanimous decision Saturday in the co-main event at UFC Moscow.

The 6-foot-7 Russian - who's a 10-year mixed martial arts veteran - had the technical advantage over the relative newcomer.

Volkov out-struck Hardy for all three rounds, as reflected by the unanimous 30-to-27 scorecards. The victory brings the No. 7 heavyweight contender's UFC record to 5-1, while his overall count is now at 31-7.

The bout was Volkov's first in over a year, as he last fought Oct. 6, 2018, when he was knocked out by Derrick Lewis at UFC 229.

Hardy, meanwhile, was fighting on 22 days' rest, the fifth-shortest turnaround in UFC history. The loss dropped his promotional record to 2-2, with one no-contest.
