McGregor congratulates Diaz on UFC 241 victory, teases trilogy bout

Conor McGregor congratulated Nate Diaz on his UFC 241 victory and said he'd "be prepared" if they fought for a third time, but added that Diaz has earned his respect regardless after "a war for the ages."
The Stockton, California, native (20-11) ended a three-year hiatus from the Octagon and defeated Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision Saturday. McGregor praised Diaz's performance in a Facebook post Monday:
3 years to the day myself and this Mexican animal went to war. Congrats on the win this weekend Nate, it was motivating to see it for my own comeback. I don't blame you not mentioning me for the trilogy bout post-fight, you know what I'm like when I get going. Vicious. I loved the round 3 style from round 1 that you implemented. It's what I was hoping you would implement for this bout and was glad to see you do it. I'll be prepared for it when we go again. If we go again. If not, respect always. A war for the ages. No b---- talk. Just real shit.
McGregor (21-4) defeated Diaz by majority decision three years ago in their rematch at UFC 202. The 31-year-old hasn't competed since his loss to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 and recently made headlines outside the cage for allegedly attacking a man at an Irish pub.
Diaz, 34, has won three of his last four fights, including a submission win over McGregor on short notice at UFC 196.
With Diaz's callout of Jorge Masvidal following his win in Anaheim, a trilogy bout with McGregor may have to wait.
